When applying for trainee journalist job with no journalism qualis what is best to include first on cover lett
I'm applying for a trainee journalist position but I don't have any formal journalism qualifications which most but not this one specify in job ad. I do however have a film and tv degree so what should I include first in my cover letter? My degree or my student journalism experience although I do not have a lot of that either. What else is good to include? I know I don't stand much chance of getting this job but I've at least got to try! thanks!
The thing they're really looking for is a track record showing commitment. I would emphasise the student journalism experience, which is an indication of genuine interest in this type of career. If you have a portfolio of press cuttings to show them, that would impress them even further. Good luck!
